Hick swine. How dare they sully my good clothes with their filth. If I'd known they were so keen on touching at these community events, I would've worn something more durable. Oh well, at least the music was decent.

Perhaps a yankee visiting the deep south for the first time. I was thinking of a dance or something, where they actually... y'know... danced :D But since the yankee believes him/herself to be better than these people, s/he hated the bodily contact.
...But you can't hate the music. I loves me some bluegrass.

oneword: guided
Tours through the world, following an unseen leader through harsh trials. If there is a God, does he lead or follow? I read once that he walks beside us... but who makes the decisions? Is it a collaboration? Is God just a piece of us, trying to convince us of the right pathway?

I resorted my tags. Now everything with 'original' in the tag is a more thought-out original work. Onewords are no longer included in this, because frankly, I don't think they're worth reading. They're more just exercise for my brain XD If you want all my writings (including oneword) listed, follow the 'writing' tag. I think the rest of the tags are pretty self-explanatory.

Rusty Poetics
I haven't written poetry in a while, but my creative writing class demands it, so I'm trying to get the kinks out of my system. I'll post everything except my class works here, since I don't want my teacher to do an internet search and get the wrong idea.
----------
In days where fingers can take you anywhere,
I question the purpose of a page.
Thin and cold and fragile,
Its surface could be overthrown any moment
By the warm, familiar hum
Of a hard drive.
Until fingers burn for the sharp edges
Of something solid
And, leaning back, minds whirl with
The need for cool parchment.
Words that never shift or change or edit
Without a hint of remorse.
----------
And oneword: penny
Pennies for thoughts. The idle shrinkage of original ideas, and we think creative plans can be stolen for pennies. It's true. Poe sold his Raven for fourteen dollars. Pennies. Pure originality pawned off for a couple days of full bellies.

oneword: bars
The savage meeting spot of uncultured social wreckage. Are we speaking of drinking spots or prisons? ...It's all the same.
----------
Excuse me, I'm very cynical towards bars. For some reason, this cynicism doesn't extend to pubs... especially not hypothetical teapubs in Scotland ;D

oneword: gym
Being an athlete, being healthy, being in control... everything the gym is meant to signify. And I was the girl in the back with glasses, being pelted by the dodge ball. Good times.
--------
I always wondered what it would be like to be the weak one in gym class. I always protected my frailer friends as much as I could, but I was a very strong player. This has its own set of problems, but at least I always came out feeling confident in my body's abilities.

Oneword: Destination
Going through the submissions on oneword.com, I came across this:
"we find someone to walk with and suddenly it doesn't really matter anymore where we're going" - Kuri
I don't care if it's somewhat regurgitated. I still find it very fulfilling.
My (really bad... but isn't that the point? :D) submission:
Movement. The future is approaching swiftly, and all I have is a book bag and a pencil. The fear takes me, but I know I'm strong enough to continue boldly onward. Unless I freeze. Freezing... the ultimate letdown to my family and peers. Unmoving in a sea of struggle, and I slowly sink to the bottom. No, swim. I have to reach the surface again. Only then can I see the faces of my loved ones, shining brightly as I breath the fresh air.
